Abstract
X-ray measurements were made of the sum of the tangential componenets of macroscopic stressesσ=σ 1+σ 2 in plates of the material G5. The values determined on the basis of the displacement of the (121) line of tungsten carbide are on an average 40% lower than those calculated theoretically from the deflection and modulus of elasticity of the same material so that the great influence of the cobalt component is shown.
