Refractories Aims and scope

Conclusions

Using a technology developed by the All-Union Institute of Refractories (VIO), it is possible to use Shorzhinsk dunites to make forsterite brick whose properties are not inferior to those of goods produced industrially. The results of tests on the trial bricks indicate that they can be used in the metallurgical, cement, and glass industries.

Shorzhinsk dunites can serve as the raw materials for producing forsterite refractories with the aim of satisfying the needs of concerns in the Armenian SSR and the south of the country.
