Interaction between internal loading and surface indentation for a transversely isotropic elastic half-space

Summary

An analytical solution is given for the axisymmetric indentation problem of a half-space loaded by internal forces. Closed form results are presented for an interior point force and a flat-ended indenter. The interaction between internal and external loadings is discussed using numerical results and graphs.
