Diese Arbeit ist von der Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftlichen Fakultät der Universität Tübingen als Habilitationsschrift angenommen worden. Sie wurde dem Berichterstatter im Mai 1952 überreicht. Der vorliegende erste Teil bringt die funktionalanalytischen Grundlagen, der zweite Teil (im nächsten Heft der Math. Z.) die Anwendungen auf die Funktionentheorie.
