Abstract

Chromatographic methods were developed to estimate the concentration of trace contaminants in caprolactam which can be used to differentiate its quality within the limits of the same GOST grade and to identify the CL manufacturer. Commercial CL from the basic manufacturers in CIS companies was compared with CL from foreign firms by the chromatographic methods. The level of the content of trace contaminants, including trace contaminants with carbonyl groups, was determined. It was shown that the capacity of CL for processing into 93.5 tex technical fibre worsens with an increase in the concentration of trace contaminants as a function of the manufacturer.
