Abstract
Points advanced in this article underscore the possible importance of community involvement in achieving desegregation and other broad social and educational goals. Certain risks that must be taken into account when planning to implement meaningful involvement are detailed. Finally, several techniques for fostering community involvement are specified, with attention directed to the strengths and weaknesses of each.
