Abstract
In the present work we use the example of the one-dimensional wave equation with a small deviating argument to illustrate the constructions of the author's previous paper “‘Quasiphoton’ in an active medium”. The significance of the concept of “propagation velocity” introduced there, as well as the relation between the change in the “propagation frequency” along a ray and the parameters characterizing the concentrated solution, are discussed.
