Limits of applicability of the model of equilibrium sorption in the description of diffusion processes in sorbing media

Conclusions

A precise analytical solution of the problem of the diffusion of a substance in a sorbing medium for linear and rectangular sorption isotherms was obtained. A large value of parameter g =

≫ 1 is a condition of the applicability of the equilibrium sorption model in a wide time range. With small times\(\left( {\frac{{\pi ^2 Dt}}{{l^2 }}< \frac{\Gamma }{{\sqrt g }}} \right)\) the equilibrium model is not applicable, and the diffusion process can be described by the model with irreversible sorption with sufficient precision.
