Rearrangements in fluorinated anisoles upon resonance electron capture

Conclusions

Relatively long-lived C6F5X rearrangement ions are formed upon the capture of thermal electrons by C6F5OCHX2 (X=F, Cl). The lifetimes of these ions relative to electron self-extrusion are 180 and 215μsec, respectively.
