Summary

The fine structures of different intracellular and extracellular stages ofHaemogregarina sachai pathogenic for the marine flatfishScophthalmus maximus L. under mariculture conditions are described. Merozoites and schizonts from the intraleucocytic schizogony are described in detail and compared with other haemogregarines of poikilothermic animals. In addition a single free sporozoite was found. Intraerythrocytic stages showed such a poor structural differentiation that no detailed description was possible.
