  • Published:
Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Summary

  1. 1.

A convenient method was found for the preparation of 5,5-dichloro-2,4-pentadienal from the product of condensation of β,β -dichloroacrolein diethylacetal with vinyl ethyl ether.

  2. 2.

Some transformations of 5,5-dichloro-2,4-pentadienal, notably to α-pyrone and dienic acids, were investigated.
