Inductive interaction of the C-Cl bonds and nuclear quadrupole resonance spectra of Cl35 in chloro-substituted ethanoanthracenes

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    A linear relationship was established between the NQR frequencies of Cl35 and chloroethanoanthracenes and the changes in the dipole moment of the C-Cl bond, predicted by the field effect theory.

  2. 2.

    The cause of the anomalously high dipole moments of trans-disubstituted bicyclic molecules is not inductive interaction of the bonds.
