1.
A study was made of the phase equilibria in the Mo-TiC-Ti region of the ternary system Mo-Ti-C at 1400°C. The isothermal section of the system Mo-TiC-Ti at 1400°C was constructed.
-
2.
The polythermic sections of the system Mo-TiC-Ti at 20 and 30 at.% C were established.
-
3.
It is shown that the direction of the tie lines in the Δ+β region is parallel to the quasi-binary Mo-TiC section at Ti contents ranging from 20 to 48 at.% in the 20 at.% C section and is independent of temperature.
-
4.
The distribution coefficient K for the two-phase Δ+β region on the solidus surface was calculated. The coefficient was found to be 34±8 at titanium contents ranging from 20 to 58 at.% in the 20 at.% C section.
-
5.
It was found that the boundary of the homogeneity region of the Δ-phase in the Mo-TiC section lies at the 46 at.% Ti-46 at.% C composition at 1700°C and 46.5 at.% Ti-46.5 at.% C composition at 1400°C.
