Calculation of the relationship between compaction pressure and the density of metal powders

Soviet Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics Aims and scope

Conclusions

A formula is derived theoretically which is suitable for predicting the relationship between the density of compacts and compaction pressure. It contains only two genuine physicotechnical constants, p0= HBmin and II0=1-θ0. The formula is applicable to annealed powders of ductile metals compacted in the middle (second) stage of pressing. Experimental data have confirmed its satisfactory accuracy and reliability.
