Summary
The capillary forces of adhesion between particles forming a cone apex plane type contact were investigated theoretically and experimentally. A formula has been derived for determining the capillary force as a function of particle size, amount of liquid, and other characteristics of the system.
It is shown that, with increasing amount of liquid, the adhesion force also increases. In view of the good agreement between experimental and theoretical data, the formula obtained may be employed in the calculations of capillary systems.
