Conclusions

1.
The error has been determined in the water extraction method of determination of acidity of paraffin wax, and it has been demonstrated that this method cannot be used for the quantitative assessment of the content of sulfuric acid or alkali in wax finished by the sulfuric acid treating process.

2.
Two methods have been studied for the quantitative determination of wax acidity. The advisability of using the GOST 5985-59 procedure has been demonstrated for the determination of microquantities of sulfuric acid or alkali present in paraffin wax.
