Conclusions

  1. 1.

In alloying of high-silicon iron with Al, Ga, Cr, Ni, and Nb its plasticity increases. Since a relatively high alloy element content leads to poorer magnetic properties of silicon-iron the addition of small quantities of these elements is recommended: 1–2% of Al, Ga, or Cr, 1–2.5% of Ni, and 0.2–0.5% of Nb.

  2. 2.

The increase in plasticity of Fe-Si-alloys in alloying with Al and Ga is caused by partial suppression of atomic ordering. Evaluation of the influence of the other elements requires further investigations.
