Abstract
A single-component Fermi liquid model is used to estimate the quasiparticle-quasiparticle scattering contribution to the transport properties of the heavy-electron systems UPt3 and TiBe2. The scattering amplitudes are obtained from an analysis of the low-temperature behavior of the specific heat. The calculated transport coefficients are in good agreement with measurements on UPt3; the electrical resistivity of TiBe2 lies an order of magnitude below the calculation.
