Abstract
A method for the calculation of H2 + quadrupole moment tensor components in a strong magnetic field typical for a neutron star surface is discussed. Numerical computations were carried out for the values of a magnetic field in the intervalB=1011–1013 G. The main attention is concentrated on those regions of internuclear distances and angles between the directions of the magnetic field and the internuclear axis which are most interesting for future calculations of the probabilities of the vibrational-rotational transitions in an H2 + molecular ion in a strong magnetic field.
