Summary
After our LDH agent, obtained from the mouse sarcoma I, was incubated in cultures of fibroblasts for prolonged periods, it was found that the agent's infectivity persisted for only a limited time. With the usual inoculation of the culture it was 8 days, but up to 16 days if the fibroblasts had been pre-inoculated by infection across the placenta. As compared with the cell-free incubation of the agent, by using the fibroblasts the period of preserved infectivity was certainly lengthened, yet a multiplication of the agent by the technics used was not possible.
