Abstract
This trial tends to confirm the antidepressant properties of Noveril and to point to the characteristics of the ordinary Noveril and of the time-released Noveril. Ratings were made with two depression scales (Hamilton, Breulet), an anxiety scale (Cattell) and MMPI. The results in two groups of depressed inpatients (11 and 9 patients) were examined statistically by the Mann-Whitney Test. The experimental design implied double blind, cross-over and randomization. The two forms of Noveril are found antidepressant but the ordinary Noveril seems more active.
