Summary
Rats of three strains were trained to press a bar for water on a DRL 20 schedule of reinforcement. Nicotine and amphetamine increased response rates in most experiments but both drugs occasionally depressed responding. In two of the strains there was a tendency for individual animals to be affected similarly by the two drugs.
