Soliton-shaped nonlinear waves of space charge in photorefractive materials

Abstract

A new type of nonlinear waves of space charge in photorefractive media is presented. These waves have a sech-shaped envelope which makes them similar to solitons. The conditions for their experimental observation are discussed.
