Summary
An Aspergillus sp. was isolated which secreted high levels of β-glucosidase in growth medium. The maximum activity(10 IU/ml of β-glucosidase and 22.6 IU/ml of cellobiase) was obtained in cellulose medium supplemented with wheat bran. The pH and temperature optima for this enzyme were 4.5 and 65°C respectively.
