Corrections for the effect of background concentration change and sensor drift in real-time eddy correlation systems

Abstract

This paper investigates errors in the measurements of flux and variance of an atmospheric entity given by an eddy correlation system which employs real-time analysis, when there is real or apparent change in its measured concentration. Theoretical correction formulae are derived and their application illustrated with reference to field data.
