Abstract

Very important terms of fatigue testing, i.e. fatigue strength and minimum life, are often interpreted ambiguously. To avoid this, introduction of compulsory definitions of these terms with regard to statistical methods of planning tests and analyzing their results seems to be urgent. The arc since % MathType!MTEF!2!1!+-% feaafiart1ev1aaatCvAUfeBSjuyZL2yd9gzLbvyNv2CaerbuLwBLn% hiov2DGi1BTfMBaeXatLxBI9gBaerbd9wDYLwzYbItLDharqqtubsr% 4rNCHbGeaGqiVu0Je9sqqrpepC0xbbL8F4rqqrFfpeea0xe9Lq-Jc9% vqaqpepm0xbba9pwe9Q8fs0-yqaqpepae9pg0FirpepeKkFr0xfr-x% fr-xb9adbaqaaeGaciGaaiaabeqaamaabaabaaGcbaWaaOaaaeaaca% WGqbaaleqaaaaa!36DD!\[\sqrt P \] transformation, which until now has proved to be an outstanding evaluation method with special regard to engineering purposes, is reviewed. Both the numerical and the graphical way of evaluation is discussed and associated probability papers are given.
