Abstract
In this paper, a new folding mechanism is proposed innovatively from the perspective of origami. The folding model is mainly composed of panels with different shapes, which are successively connected by rotating joints. Firstly, the existing origami model is taken as the research object and the folding model is simplified and improved and the degree of freedom and other theoretical analysis are carried out to ensure that the folding model can be foldable under rigid conditions. Finally, the zero thickness folding model was thickened by the motion synthesis method.
