Abstract

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is a common malignancy. Surgery is the standard of care for primary RCC; however, many patients in this population are elderly or have so severe medical comorbidities that they cannot be operated, and partial nephrectomy of patients with only one kidney may result in chronic kidney disease. Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) is widely used as a treatment method in which high local control can be obtained with minimal invasiveness, and it is often reported that high local control can be safely obtained even for renal cancer. Some techniques and results of SBRT for RCC will be presented and discussed here.
