Abstract
In order to improve the efficiency and accuracy of stratigraphic correlation and structural modeling of horizontal wells, this paper takes the horizontal wells of AH oilfield as the research object, and puts forward a detailed stratigraphic correlation method for marine carbonate reservoirs that are developed by horizontal wells. Firstly, the isochronous stratigraphic correlation framework is established for the oilfield based on the stratigraphic division and correlation of vertical and directional wells, so as to obtain the understanding of the stratigraphic characteristics of the whole filed. Secondly, the sensitive well logging curves of horizontal wells are optimized, and the typical well logging response mode and standard chart of logging instruments near the formation surface are established. Before the correlation, a visual linkage working platform for well logging curves, two-dimensional structural horizon profile and three-dimensional structure model is constructed. In the process of detailed stratigraphic correlation, geo-steering logic, inflection point of horizontal section trajectory and resistivity trend are applied to judge the drilling direction. From the heel to toe of horizontal wells, the characteristics of structure, well trajectory and well logging curves are combined and correlated interval by interval. Finally, the horizontal wells’ stratification and vertical wells’ stratification are integrated to generate structural horizons and construct the structural model. The planar formation thickness, two-dimensional profile of structural horizons, and three-dimensional structural model are checked respectively to further verify the rationality of horizontal well stratification. Through the method and process proposed in this paper, the stratigraphic correlation of horizontal wells in AH oilfield has been completed. It is verified that the stratification results are accurate and reasonable, and the correlation process is convenient and efficient. This method has important guiding significance for stratigraphic correlation, sub-division and structural modeling of horizontal wells in marine carbonate reservoirs, which can be extended to the research of similar reservoirs.
