Abstract
This chapter examines the capacity of student leadership in championing sustainability on college campuses by exploring three examples of student-led sustainability initiatives at Florida Gulf Coast University. These include an annual sustainability dialogue, a coalition attempting to unify siloed sustainability efforts, and an initiative encouraging Greek Life to rally around the university’s sustainability mission. It considers how each initiative was launched and maintained, identifying best practices, required resources for programmatic longevity, and recommendations for improvements.
