Post COVID-19 Complications and Management

Abstract

Various mucocutaneous manifestations of COVID-19 infection have been recorded in the literature. They may precede, coexist with, or follow the other symptoms of COVID-19 infection. Cutaneous manifestations may be the only manifestation of COVID-19 infection in up to a fifth of patients. Certain cutaneous findings may have a prognostic significance, such as pernio, which typically occurs in mild or asymptomatic disease, and retiform purpura, which may signal a more severe disease. This chapter covers the dermatological manifestations of COVID-19 infection per se, as well as those as a consequence of COVID-19 vaccination, treatment, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
