Abstract
One of the consequences of Suez Canal Blockade and the global COVID-19 pandemic will be the search for new routes. The search will be for the optimization of transport cost and the reduction of carbon footprints. An alternative to the south transport route seems to be a new economic route on the north. This can shorten the distance between South-eastern Asia and North-western Europe. The Northern Sea Route has an enormous global impact, but a specific significant internal meaning for the Russian Federation. Not only Arctic states but also the states outside the line of the Northern Sea Route will take an interest for its huge wealth, including in the mineral raw materials. Global climate changes will have monumental importance for the building of the Northern Sea Route.
