Abstract

The main results of cardiac examination using an electrocardiograph are to obtain the morphology of the heart’s electrical waves and the amplitude value of the P, QRS and T waves. The peak amplitude value is associated with hypertrophy, coronary, ischemia, and myocardial infarct disease. The fact is that the results of the examination only provide information for the peak value of R only. This limited information causes manual calculations to be carried out using small boxes on ecg paper. This study proposes a method to obtain peak amplitude values. The application of the voltage threshold on the discrete lead II electrocardiogram will obtain peak R values. Obtaining the R-R duration will obtain cycle duration, peak P, peak Q, peak S and peak T in each cycle. The results of the study on 10 discrete ecg samples from CVCU RSSA Malang showed that each sample had a peak R value in each cycle along with its peak PQST value. When the peak amplitude value is obtained, manual calculations are no longer needed so that the time for interpretation and diagnosis can be faster.
