Abstract

The Tang Dynasty reaches the height of ancient civilization in China, and even more than one thousand years have gone, people of today are still obsessed with this flourishing empire. But we have to say that studies on journalism and communication pale in comparison with other areas of research connected with the Tang, for current studies focus more on such topics linked with the origin and pattern of ancient newspaper. The Introduction expounds the social culture and ethos of the Tang Dynasty and explains the three levels of news communication including government, scholar, and ordinary people as a systematic pattern of communication like three strong horses driving the carriage.
