Abstract
The aim of this study is to explore the concept of territoriality in relation to the modes, styles, manners, and forms of control over land and people throughout history. This paper is an attempt to dismantle and unfold the patrimonial practices of territoriality in Indonesia that have led to social injustice and dehumanization. The focus of the study is to examine the relationship between territoriality and hegemonic interest of each patrimonial regime. This study argues that political culture plays a significant role in the implementation of the territorial concept because territoriality is not simply a geographical boundary of political sovereignty. Rather, territoriality includes the cultural dominion and ideological realm of influence that construct the sense of safety and security of hegemony.
