Abstract

Biology can sometimes be abstract for junior high school students to construct meaning in their mind because some of the concepts such as functions of blood cells require mental imaging of the micro level phenomenon. This project will design and develop a series of augmented reality games based on game-based learning strategy to attract learners’ interests and further promote learning of the subject domain. Mobile devices such as mobile phones will be the major medium to deliver the augmented reality learning content. We hope the use of augmented reality for the game-based learning environments not only can draw learners’ attention but also promote meaningful learning of the domain knowledge.
