Abstract
Organizational ethical climate refers to a shared perception among organization members about how to address ethical questions. As such, it underlies the decisions of the organization and its members and has a significant effect on their behavior. In fact, research has shown that different organizational ethical climates impact individual members in different ways: the more positive a climate is, the more it encourages ethical behavior and organizational performance, while negative climates tend to be associated with unethical and deviant behaviors such as lying, stealing, rule-breaking, and other misconduct. Through its impact on individual behavior, the organizational ethical climate has also been shown to affect job performance.
