Abstract
This chapter introduces the topic of youth employment by highlighting its significance in the global and Bangladeshi context. It mentions the broad objectives of this study and briefly describes the methodology and data used. It then clarifies some issues regarding the definition of youth and justifies the particular definition used in this book. Finally, it concludes with an outline of the plan of the work.
