Abstract

The emergence of promising Software Defined Networks to be exact SDN has been a center of attraction for the researchers as well as industry for its capability of network management in terms of simplicity, elasticity, and programmability. Despite all these promising opportunities; due to the introduction of various architectural entities of SDN poses new security threats and vulnerabilities, which leads an agenda for attackers. There are several possible attacks in SDN among them this paper prioritizes the impact of the DDoS attack on SDN and existing mitigation techniques.
