Qingchuan Earthquake Remains Geopark, Sichuan

This geopark is located in Qingchuan County, Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province. It has an area of 209 km2 with geological features concentrated into an area of 65 km2. It became a national geopark in 2011. The geopark is categorised as a geopark of geohazards and was the first in China with earthquake geology as its main theme. The earthquake relics are mainly located in towns such as Hongguang, Shiba and Magong. They can be classified into different types, such as collapses of mountains (represented by Magong), combined collapses and debris flows (represented by Wangjiashan in Donghekou), combined collapses and landslides (represented by the Zhaojiashan collapse and landslides in Shiba), rock landslides (represented by the Shibangou landslide in Hongguang), soil landslides (the Libaisi landslide in Hongguang) and landslide dams.
