This is a landscape composed of mushroom-like glacial features. An ice mushroom forms when an ice pillar is covered by a rock, causing differential ablation that results in a shape similar to that of a mushroom. When the surrounding ice melts, the ice beneath the rock remains due to the shadow of the rock. Ice mushrooms can have various sizes (Fig. 5).
