Introduction

Continuous examination of the significance of school leadership and its impact on school performance and climate, are crucial for meeting the demands of global education. There are many research papers, blogs, and books on school leadership and leadership styles that generally acknowledge the challenges in developing school leaders. This literature includes understanding different character types, personalities, and work styles. However, many of these studies do not incorporate how race impacts on school leadership which is concerning because race is an intersection of the individual (Crenshaw 1988). A growing body of literature indicates how race and school leadership remain problematic, and it seems that finding, achieving, and maintaining ways to address racism and discrimination in school leadership remains a work in progress.
