Abstract.
The objective of this paper is to report a study for the needs of Muslim women tourist. Past literature indicates that while the statistic of this group of tourists is very encouraging, study to look into the specific needs of the Muslim women tourist’s needs is lacking. It shows that current technology support doesn’t meet the specific expectation and experience of Muslim women tourist, and often this tourist has to compromise their moral codes, or their target travel experience gone bad. To understand the gap, an emotional approach is proposed, using qualitative approach and interview to Muslim women in Malaysia. The respondents were selected using specific criteria that includes they have experience travelling in locally and internationally. The result can be used as a design concept in producing application that can help to increase the emotional experience and satisfaction of Muslim women tourist during travelling.
