Abstract
Responsible investment is an approach to incorporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into investment decisions. In the Chinese context, responsible investment also includes the activities that use the financial tools to improve the efficient use of natural resources, solving the problems of climate change and promoting the economic transformation for the goals of ecological civilization. This chapter seeks to provide an overview of responsible investment in China. It discusses the driven forces of the rapid growth of responsible investment in China, and provides suggestions to further promote the development of responsible investment in China.
