Mark Twain once said that the universal brotherhood of man is the most precious possession (Moncur, 2010). One can only assume that this brotherhood that Twain spoke of is one that is comprised of a sense of belonging, the sense of belonging that parallels among members of a community, whether it be a geographic community or a community of people with similar characteristics or ideas as to how the community should be organized.
