Abstract
As in the case of the communities studied, the dynamic systems must be investigated according to the activities of the most abundant species. Those that are predominant in the ecosystem will therefore be given the most consideration, while the rarer species must be somewhat neglected. This, of course, tends to undermine the estimation of the wetland as a habitat for rare and unusual species, which is one of its great assets. Additional reference will therefore be made to the relationships of the rarer species to the main biological energy fluxes within the system.
