Abstract

Two-fluid flows composed of immiscible viscous liquids and undergoing shearing motions can form waves, fingers and drops as a result of an interfacial instability. Numerical simulations of two-layer Couette flow, core-annular flow and drop breakup in simple shear are shown. We use a semi-implicit volume-of-fluid scheme.
