Abstract

In the periods of World Wars I and II and the Cold War, many developed states, including the former USSR, engaged in the mass production of chemical weapons. The resulting vast stockpiles of chemical weapons (CW), as years passed, induced serious anxiety in the world community Accordingly many states that were the owners of those deadly stockpiles made internal and international commitments to destroy their chemical weapons (CW) as soon as possible.
