Abstract
We present CO(1-0) observations of the galaxy NGC 7252, made with the SEST 15 m. The molecular mass, 2.9 109 Mo, is unexpectedly high for an old post-starburst merger remnant. We conclude that the starburst triggered by the merging of two galaxies does not necessarily exhaust their gas content.
