Abstract

In 1962, a small book of 150 pages came to my attention: Psychochemotherapy (The Physician’s Manual), by E. Remmen, S. Cohen, K. S. Ditman and J. R. Frantz11. On page 94, reference was made to a substance that was synthesized by Dr. Leo H. Sternbach, who is today honouring Brazilian Psychopharmacology with his presence. It was the first agent of a new class of psychotherapeutic compounds which could be applied in a wide area of psychopathology.
